Aruba is famous for its year-round sunny weather at 80 degrees and no rain. Its world-renowned white-sand beaches, friendly locals, and pristine clear water are some of the reasons why Aruba is one of my favorite islands in the world! Keep reading for 3 things I recommend everyone do in the Happy Island!
Travel Dates: April 2021
Spend the day at De Palm Island
I’m sure you have seen the Instagram-famous pictures of flamingos in Aruba! Well, De Palm Island is where you will get this photo for yourself. De Palm Island and The Renaissance Hotel are the two popular places on the island where tourists are able to see flamingos. I enjoyed De Palm Island because there were so many activities to try besides seeing flamingos, including, snorkeling, banana boat riding, water slides, basketball, relaxing on the beach, and more. A $109 day pass comes with all-inclusive entry to the island, unlimited food and drinks, and all of the activities.
Tip – book a private cabana on the island for a more exclusive experience or head to the Renaissance for a more luxurious experience
Green – taking pictures of the flamingos only lasted around 15 minutes, so I loved that the island had much more to offer
Take a snorkeling tour in the Caribbean Sea
I rarely ever go to an island without taking a snorkeling tour, so Aruba was no different. We purchased tickets for a snorkeling boat tour and it was amazing. Not only was the water super clear and blue, but there were so many beautiful fish. This was by far one of my favorite snorkeling experiences to date. The boat came with unlimited drinks so it turned into a party boat on the ride home!
Tip – online snorkeling tours are $50-$75, but in person, you are normally able to get them at discounted prices
Green – very fun snorkeling boat tour and super easy to book on the spot walking along Palm Beach
Have dinner at Barefoot restaurant
Last but not least, one thing that I recommend everyone to do in Aruba is to have dinner at the Barefoot restaurant. This was one of my favorite experiences in Aruba. You eat your food directly on the beach as you watch the sun fold into the ocean line. Being on the waterfront and witnessing the calm ocean waves was indescribable. On top of the amazing views and ambiance, the food was also great!
Tip – wear sandals or shoes that you can take off easily so you can fully enjoy your beachfront table in the sand. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time because tables fill up fast!
Green – The vibes, the views, and the food were unmatched

White sand beaches
Aruba is known for the world’s most pristine white-sand beaches. Be sure to check out the beaches while you are there. My favorite beach was Eagle Beach because it was more private and less crowded. This beach is known across the world as one of the nicest beaches on the planet!
Conchi Natural Pool
Take a tour of this amazing natural wonder. You can swim, snorkel, or jump off rocks at this natural pool. We hiked here on our own, but going with a tour group is also recommended for those without a car.
Downtown Aruba
There are tons of fun things to do in downtown Aruba during the day and night. I recommend stopping at Lola Taqueria during one of their many happy hour specials.
Dinner by the California Lighthouse
Visit the California Lighthouse on your way to dinner at Faro Blanco Restaurant. The views are absolutely stunning, especially around sunset.
Drink at a beach bar
While you are relaxing on the beach, stop and get a cold drink at one of the beach bars. My favorite drink was the Mango Pina Colada.
